Why the Local System Matters
Clarke County adults held after a custodial arrest are generally handled through the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center, not a separate county jail. The NRADC inmate locator is the official place to check current regional custody. A court case and its outcome are separate matters, so the Virginia court portal is the next place to check a case record. For state custody or supervision, the VADOC locator has a different scope.
Virginia public-record rules can provide a route to existing adult intake records, but the holder matters. Va. Code § 2.2-3706 sets the public-record rules for adult initial-intake photographs and law-enforcement information, subject to stated exceptions. NRADC holds its own confinement material, an arresting agency holds its own records, and the court maintains its case file. A court-ordered sealing matter follows the official Virginia sealing process. Clarke County Busted Mugshots collects those distinctions and official starting points. It does not keep official records or rehost photographs.
What the Reference Pages Cover
The site focuses on records pathways rather than person-level profiles. Its main sections point to the following local topics.
- Home explains the official current-custody locator, booking-record request path, court follow-up, and Virginia sealing information.
- Most Wanted Fugitives explains the local warrant-check route where no public Clarke County wanted gallery was verified.
- Crime News separates official announcements from secondary news and publisher pages.
- Berryville Busted Mugshots and Boyce Busted Mugshots describe the distinct local enforcement paths for the county’s two incorporated towns.
- Records-request information reflects Virginia FOIA’s existing-record and response-time rules, including the need to ask the proper custodian for a defined record.
What We Cannot Do
Clarke County Busted Mugshots is privately operated. It is not connected with the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, NRADC, the Virginia Department of Corrections, any court, or another government agency. We cannot release, hold, transfer, locate, or confirm the status of a person in custody. We also cannot post bond, arrange a visit, file a records request, obtain a record, or give legal advice.
- Only the responsible agency can confirm current custody, a release, or a charge as it stands today.
- Only the court and its official records can establish how a criminal case was resolved.
- Telephone numbers, office practices, and public-facing tools may change without notice.
Booking information describes an allegation or custody event, not guilt. Every person remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Search Partners
Some pages include tools operated by outside search providers. Those providers set their own terms, prices, and data practices. If a visitor chooses a paid sign-up through one of those tools, Clarke County Busted Mugshots may receive referral compensation that helps support the site. That relationship does not give us control over a partner’s results, pricing, or decisions.
