Get in Touch

Clarke County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, release anyone, or obtain official booking records. Direct those questions to the public agency that holds the record.

Where Official Questions Belong

Clarke County uses a regional adult detention center, so the right office depends on whether the question concerns current custody, an arresting agency’s record, or a court case. Sheriff Travis Sumption leads the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office. Its administrative office is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; its non-emergency line is available at all times. Boyce has no operating municipal police department, so a Boyce incident usually starts with the Sheriff’s Office route.

Virginia FOIA requests should reasonably identify existing records. Under Va. Code § 2.2-3704, the agency generally responds within five working days, may charge actual cost, and may seek an estimate or deposit when the cost is expected to exceed $200.

  • Current adult regional custody: Start with the official NRADC locator. It covers present regional custody, not a historical arrest archive or a court outcome.
  • Sheriff arrest or incident material: Use the Sheriff’s Office records contact above or the Clarke County FOIA request page. Identify the person, date range, and existing record sought.
  • Berryville agency records: Contact the Berryville Police Department, 101 Chalmers Court, Berryville, VA 22611, 540-955-3863, foiapolice@berryvilleva.gov. Its records office hours are weekdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Case status or disposition: Use the Virginia court portal, then ask the appropriate clerk for official copies. Clarke General District Court is at 104 N. Church St., Berryville, VA 22611, 540-955-5128, weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Clarke Circuit Court is at 102 N. Church St., Berryville, VA 22611, 540-955-5116, weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • State custody or supervision: Search the VADOC Inmate & Supervisee Locator. It is not a substitute for a recent NRADC custody check.
  • Federal or immigration detention: Use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator or the ICE detainee locator, depending on the holding authority.
